Chelsea hero Vialli slams selfish Premier League stars

Chelsea hero Gianluca Vialli has hit out at the behaviour of today's Premier League stars.

Vialli is concerned that some of the Premier League's top stars have moved their primary focus away from the pitch to capitalise on their image as celebrities.

The Italian said: "It's not simply a case of managing players as they used to be any more, because players now are like small companies. You have to deal with their agents and it's become extremely tough being a manager these days.

"With players now, it's like dealing with 11 limited companies. Now you are dealing with brands because that is what players have become. It's down to the agents and other people who manage them."

Vialli also told the People: "Celebrations have now become too selfish and I don't like it" said Vialli. "When I used to score I was happy to celebrate with my team-mates. Now when players score it is all about them.

"They push their team-mates away, they fight them off and want the recognition for themselves.

"They run to the fans, turn their backs and point over their shoulders to the name on the shirt. I love players but I'm afraid it has become a selfish culture."
