Chelsea hero Ruud Gullit says Antonio Conte must be sure of his English ahead of taking the manager's job.

The Italy coach was in London on Sunday to put the finishing touches to his Blues contract.

Gullit told Sky Italia: "It surprised me, the choice of Chelsea. Conte has no experience in the Premier League, a championship very different to that of the Italian or the Spanish one.

"So many coaches arrived from outside and have had difficulty, precisely because they could not understand that in England you have to adapt to a game that goes a thousand miles per hour.

"First of all, I advise Conte to learn English. I am sure he will do well, but he must absolutely put aside his philosophy of the Italian model."
