Chelsea hero Frank Lampard faces being frozen out of England's starting XI for the Euros.
The Daily Star Sunday says Lampard, along with Chelsea's fellow England internationals, was excused from the trip to Norway.
The midfielder, 33, was allowed a break after captaining the Blues to a Champions League Final win over Bayern Munich nine days ago.
But new boss Hodgson has decided on a first-choice central midfield of Steven Gerrard and Scott Parker - and will play a 4-4-2 set-up with genuine wingers.
It means Lampard is set to be on the bench for England's opening game against France in Donetsk in a fortnight.
