Chelsea hero Hasselbaink offered Woking chance

Former Chelsea and Leeds United striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is being offered a playing return at non-league Woking.

Hasselbaink, 37, announced his retirement from the game in September last year after failing to win a new contract with Cardiff.

But he has been offered the chance to pull on his boots once more, if he proves to Woking manager Graham Barker he can still cut it.

The Blue Square South club's chairman Shahid Azeem said: "We want him to come and get fit, then any signing would be up to Graham."

Hasselbaink won 23 caps for Holland, scoring nine goals, between 1998 and 2002.
