Chelsea hero Duberry: Conte has special plan for Terry

Former Chelsea defender Michael Duberry believes manager Antonio Conte has a plan for John Terry this season.

Terry, 36, has recently been linked with moves to China and Bournemouth.

He told the Daily Star: “What you deserve and what you get in football are two different things.

Chelsea are all about moving forward and being successful at the same time.

“If they win another trophy with JT just playing a bit-part they may decide they can do without him.

“But if JT still has a positive voice in the dressing room, Antonio Conte may think he can use him for another season.

“As a friend, I think it would be nice if he ended his playing career at Chelsea and rode off into the sunset on a horse waving a blue flag but it doesn't always work out that way.

“He may move to China for a year or two but is that really what he wants?

“He's a family man and his kids are approaching secondary school – would he want to take his kids out of their schools or move to China on his own?

“He's not chasing the money any more. Silly money sounds tempting but you get to the stage where there are things you value more, like family and memories."
