Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has branded the current midfield a "disgrace".

Cundy was discussing the 2-2 draw at Newcastle United.

He told talkSPORT: “I take no pleasure in this, and it hurts me to say this, but at the moment Chelsea are lacking fight and desire, they're getting outbattled and outplayed by teams that are relatively inferior.

“But, when talent doesn't work hard, hard work will beat talent.

“Chelsea's midfield three of Hazard, Oscar and Pedro were a disgrace the way they defended in the first-half against Newcastle. There's no fight there and they're not working.

“If you go back three months ago, everyone was calling Chelsea boring – I'd love to see that boring side of Chelsea again, when they defended in numbers and worked hard as a team.

“They're not a team at the moment at all."
