Chelsea Champions League hero Ryan Bertrand hopes the club forgets plans to buy a new left-back.
The England under-21 international has played more than 150 games on loan from Chelsea, who are expected to spend heavily again this summer with Porto left-back Alvaro Pereira among their targets.
Bertrand said: "Hopefully they will see the future is in safe hands and I will keep progressing.
"I relished the chance to play in the Final and am looking forward to proving myself at the highest level.
"I didn't really get nervous and that is the strangest thing. I will be more than motivated - this will give me the hunger to get more trophies.
"This makes the last seven years at the club and all the patience I've shown worth it. I've been on loan to Bournemouth, Oldham, Norwich, Reading and Nottingham Forest before getting to play in the Champions League Final.
"It's a crazy route but I wouldn't swap it for the world."
