Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo says the club is fully behind manager Jose Mourinho.

The Stamford Bridge future of the Portuguese tactician has come under a dark cloud following the Blues' poor start to their Premier League title defence but Emenalo, who is one of Roman Abramovich's most trusted men, insists there is no doubt within the walls of the West London club.

"Right now, the statement from the owner and from the board comes from a belief that we are in a position to trust a manager who has delivered so much," Emenalo told The Telegraph.

"We are in a position to trust a group of players who have delivered in the last couple of seasons. We are in a position to see that there is light at the end of the tunnel and therein lies our confidence ... that we can get out of the situation."

Emenalo added that perhaps it was time to offer some assistance to the strongly independent Mourinho in a bid to see the team move up from 16th position on the Premier League table.

"Maybe we have to find a better way to help him, to work with him, a better way within the hierarchy. We recognise that and we have to find a way to help him out in those situations," he added.
