Chelsea are ahead of Barcelona in their interest for Sao Paulo midfielder Hernanes.

The Daily Mail says Hernanes is another option for Chelsea after Barcelona balked at Sao Paulo's demand for £20m earlier this summer. However, with just one cap for Brazil, the 23-year-old would struggle to obtain a work permit and may have to be loaned out to a European club first.
