Chelsea are ready to hand Frank Lampard a new contract.

The Daily Express says the midfielder is set to sign a new one-year deal with Chelsea in the next 10 days.

The 35 year old, whose current deal runs out at the end of June, has been in talks with the club over extending his contract for weeks but agreement on the new contract is now close.

Lampard, 36 in June, wants his future sorted out before the World Cup finals in Brazil that same month.
