Chelsea are handing Danny Sturridge a bumper pay-off to smooth his move to Liverpool. The Daily Mail says Chelsea are putting together a £1.5million golden goodbye for Sturridge to make sure that he joins Liverpool.
The clubs have agreed a £12million fee for the striker, who underwent a medical on Sunday and who is expected to sign a three-and-a-half year deal in the next 24 hours.
However, it needed the addition of a cash sweetener to facilitate the move after Sturridge indicated that he would be happy to stay at Stamford Bridge and fight for his place until his contract expires in 18 months.
