Chelsea great Hasselbaink impresses QPR veteran Hill

QPR's newly-appointed manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has already left an impression on club captain Clint Hill.

The Chelsea great was last week appointed as successor to Chris Ramsey, who was sacked last month, and his arrival from Burton Albion has been met with positivity by veteran defender Hill.

"We've had a few days with the new gaffer now and it's all been very, very positive," Hill told QPR's official website.

"Someone who has played at the highest level and won what he has won commands that immediate respect straight away.

"He's come in and set his stall out and made it very clear what he expects from us every day. The sessions have been very high intensity, very well organised and very well structured, so it's only positive so far.

"Obviously, a first day in a new job for anyone is vital and it's no different for new managers.

"Jimmy came in and had a presence about him and made it abundantly clear what he expects from each and every one of us.

"He's pulled some lads aside already and made it clear that he expects them to work harder and that can only be good for the football club.

"He wants us to press and be a very fit team, and that comes from hard work on the training ground first and foremost."
