Chelsea are plotting a surprise move to lure Jordan Henderson away from Premier League rivals Liverpool. While Raheem Sterling putting talks of his contract extension at Liverpool have dominated all the headlines, it should not be ignored that even key midfielder Jordan Henderson needs to be tied down by the club soon as his contract at Anfield expires at the end of next season.
Henderson has expressed his desire to commit himself to the Reds but the delay in talks has alerted rival clubs and according to reports from the Daily Star, Chelsea are looking at the possibility of signing the 24-year old.
The Liverpool vice-captain reportedly turned down the club's offer of £80,000-per-week recently and with his future at Anfield in doubt as a result, Chelsea could well profit by swopping in to sign the midfielder.
