The Guardian is reporting that Chelsea have given Jose Mourinho the green light to field a completely changed line-up for Sunday’s clash with Liverpool.

The Blues boss is frustrated with the Premier League for not moving the match to either Friday or Saturday as they prepare for the Champions League semi-final second leg with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

Mourinho said after Tuesday night’s 0-0 draw in Madrid that he would ‘play the players who are not going to play on Wednesday’ in the league fixture at Anfield on the weekend.

It suggests that Mourinho is prioritising Europe’s premier club competition over the domestic title which sees his side sitting five points in arrears of the Reds with three fixtures remaining.

Reportedly, Mourinho’s plans were discussed with chief executive Ron Gourlay, sporting director Michael Emenalo and chairman Bruce Buck and given the all-clear by owner Roman Abramovich as the Blues strive to clinch their third European title in a row following the 2012 Champions League triumph and last season’s Europa League win.
