Chelsea fullback Ashley Cole admits he enjoys playing for manager Andre Villas-Boas.

Cole's relationship with AVB has flourished since the manager's ­arrival from Porto in the summer. The left-back rubbished claims when the 33-year-old boss arrived that there were egos in the ­Chelsea dressing room that would undermine his authority.

"Age is just a number. He has experience of being at Porto, a big club," said Cole.

"Hopefully he can bring that glory to Chelsea, but I don't think the age thing is anything to worry about.

"He is our manager and we have to go out and fight for him.

"Whatever manager comes in we respect him. We are not kids. ­Everyone thinks there are egos at Chelsea, but there aren't."
