Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel is facing knee surgery after breaking down in their Capital One Cup win over Swindon Town.
Van Ginkel was forced off after just ten minutes.
Chelsea No2 Steve Holland admitted the knee injury could be serious for the Dutchman.
