Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is struggling to make this weekend's clash with Manchester United.
The Daily Mail says Lampard was set to learn on Wednesday whether he would miss Chelsea's top-of-the-table Barclays Premier League showdown with Manchester United after he lasted just 15 minutes of their first serious defeat of the season.
Lampard limped out of Tuesday's 2-1 Champions League loss at Shakhtar Donetsk with a recurrence of the calf injury that ruled him out of England's World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Poland and was set to undergo a scan to determine the extent of the problem.
Blues boss Roberto Di Matteo said: "It's basically a recurrence of an old injury.
"He was training with us fine and there were no alarm bells before the game. He was in good condition to play."
