Andre Villas-Boas has tendered his resignation to Porto.
The 33-year-old sent a fax to Porto President Pinta Da Costa this morning to inform the club he is walking out after just 12 months at the Estadio do Dragao.
Portugal's official news agency was informed of the decision by Villas-Boas' representatives and the club have announced the news in a statement to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission.
Villas-Boas, who won the Portuguese title and the Europa League with Porto last season, will now be free to open formal discussions with Chelsea over his imminent move to Stamford Bridge to replace Carlo Ancelotti.
