Chelsea face competition for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Talk is sweeping across Europe that Real are prepared to sell Argentine Higuain in January.

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas rates the striker highly and is being linked with a bumper bid for the 24 year-old, while Juventus are also keen.

Meanwhile, Higuain's former club River Plate have also thrown their hat in the ring, though intermediaries concede it is a long shot given the prices mentioned.
