Chelsea boss Avram Grant is eyeing Blackburn Rovers striker Benni McCarthy.

The Guardian says South Africa international McCarthy and Bolton's Nicolas Anelka top Grant's January shopping list and the manager said: "If there is someone out there who is better, you have to look at them. I don't know what happened last year, whether they were allowed or not allowed [to sign anyone], but the procedure will be the same."
