Chelsea experience got them through - PSG's Blanc

Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc felt Chelsea's experience in the Champions League helped them through to the semi-finals on Tuesday night.

The Blues beat the French champions 2-0 in the quarter-final second leg courtesy of goals from Andre Schurrle and Demba Ba either side of half-time to win on away goals after a 3-3 aggregate.

After the match, Blanc felt his PSG side had not yet grown in Europe's top competition while suggesting it was the familiarity of the situation which allowed Jose Mourinho's men to prosper.

"We lost out on qualification with just five minutes to go," Blanc, who was without Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the clash, told Sky Sports.

"We had done well, then Schurrle's goal galvanised them.

"We tried to play our game a lot of the time with a high level, but also with a lot of physicality. They are stronger than us physically but we did not suffer much from this aspect.

"Both teams have been shown to be on the same level, but maybe they have more experience. We need time to grow - there is so much time to grow as you cannot become greats in a year or two.

"Obviously, based on today, we can think Ibrahimovic's absence has affected us. We haven't failed though, Chelsea just levelled it."
