Chelsea duo Colkett, Clarke-Salter revel in Bristol Rovers triumph

Charlie Colkett and Jake Clarke-Salter were both delighted to help Bristol Rovers to a strong 2-0 win over Oldham Athletic on Saturday.

The talented pair were both on the scoresheet as the Pirates moved into the top five in League One.

Midfielder Colkett and defender Clarke-Salter are both on loan from Chelsea and were over the moon at contributing so heavily to a significant victory.

"It was a bit similar to the other half-volley I scored, just took a touch and hit it as hard as I could," Colkett told BRFC TV of his third goal for the club.

"This time it went top corner so it was a great start.

"I set out in my first interview that I'm here to add goals to my game and try and make the difference, show everyone what I'm about.

"I believe I'm doing that at the moment and it was great to keep this run going."

Clarke-Salter added: "It's my first league goal. Harts (Peter Hartley) picked up a knock so I had to come on quickly.

"I had to adjust to the game quickly and I was fortunate enough to get my first goal.

"I haven't scored as much as I like to do but I'm dominant in the air, I've got a big size, so I thought why not, try to get up there and get a couple of goals.

"It's 100% up there (with my best moments in football). It's an amazing feeling."
