Chelsea dropped their interest in Portsmouth fullback Glen Johnson this week due to concerns over finding a buyer for Jose Bosingwa, it has been revealed.

The Guardian says Chelsea decided against re-signing the player they sold for £4m in 2007 due to problems selling Bosingwa, with the Stamford Bridge club unwilling to add another expensive right-back to their squad without offloading the £16.2m Portugal international.
