Chelsea intend to BAN their captain John Terry from facing Valencia on Wednesday night.
Terry, 26, had surgery yesterday after suffering a depressed fracture of his right cheekbone in the 0-0 draw with Fulham on Saturday and has since insisted he can play in Wednesday's key group game with a face mask.
That possibility had last night not been ruled out - but Chelsea's medical staff will assess the situation today and are almost certain to tell their captain that the risk is too great and that he should not play, says the Daily Express.
