Chelsea deny directors have abandoned Rafa Benitez.

The Telegraph says the club were adamant on Friday there was nothing sinister behind several board members not attending the Middlesbrough game.

Two directors were said to have been unwell, with another tied up with business in London, while secretary David Barnard was at the Riverside.
