Chelsea defender David Luiz has given his backing to his defensive partner Gary Cahill to be the next captain of the west London club.
Following the departure of John Terry, the Blues are yet to announce their captain, but Cahill is most likely to get the armband.
When asked about the future captain of the club, Luiz said: "I don't know. I think it continues to be Gary. [If] Gary's playing, why not?"
The Brazilian defender, who could be considered as the next-best option after Cahill, won his debut Premier League title in his second spell with the Blues last season.
