David Luiz has blamed his broken wrist for the penalty he gave Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night.

The Chelsea defender brought down Lucas Hernandez in the first-half to hand Diego Simeone side the lead.

But the Brazilian says his wrist injury, that he suffered against Arsenal, was at fault for the incident.

"I didn't have the power to stop him because of my injury and I pushed his shirt," he said.

"In the rules that's a penalty but if the referee gives that one, he has to give many more."
