Chelsea defender Gary Cahill: Burnley gave us wake-up call

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill says their draw with Burnley is a title wake up call.

The result means that Manchester City — who face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on April 5 — can close the gap to within eight points if they win at Bournemouth on Monday night.

Chelsea laboured for long periods at Turf Moor and defender Cahill said: "I thought we could have played a lot better.

"Maybe that's a little wake-up call, where we realise that it's obviously going to be tough to cross the line and there is plenty of football to be played.

"We have to keep focused, keep working and keep believing in what we have been doing all season.

"Does it feel like we have one hand on the trophy?

"No, we know that every game that goes by you get closer and closer, but that should give us more determination to work hard in training, hard in the games and achieve what we want to achieve."
