Vitesse Arnhem have confirmed the signing of Chelsea defender Fankaty Dabo.

Dabo is moving to Chelsea's Dutch partners on a season-long loan.

Vitesse football chief Mo Allach confirmed: "With the departure of both Kevin Diks and Kelvin Leerdam, it was clear that something had to be done to cover this position. We have seen several times Fankaty work. By his way of playing he aroused our interest. We're happy to welcome Fankaty for the start of preseason."

Dabo, meanwhile, said: "I have spoken with Lewis Baker and Izzy Brown about Vitesse. I'm looking forward to meeting the squad and staff and settling as soon as possible. I'm ready for it and I am hopeful for a nice new season."
