Chelsea meet Spurs in the Capital One Cup final tomorrow. Kane gave Cahill nightmares in Tottenham's January FA Cup win.
The England defender has been in and out of the team since then.
He said: "Some days you have an off day. It was one to learn from and forget. You don't dwell on it.
"I thought Harry Kane was a good player before the game. This season he has been terrific and obviously he's pushing for an England place now.
"But this is one game to win the cup and I'm looking forward to it. I don't think the last game has anything to do with this one.
"I've been blessed to win the two European trophies and the FA Cup. This is one I haven't got so I'm unbelievably hungry to win it."
