Chelsea's deal for Boavista kid Aliu Djalo could be worth up to £5 million.
Securing his services would be a major coup for Chelsea because other top clubs - including Arsenal and Bayern Munich - were also interested and have been keeping tabs on Djalo.
The youngster was born in Guinea Bissau, West Africa, but has a Portuguese passport and his adopted father, Mamadu Bobo Djalo, is on the coaching staff at Boavista.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is keen to build up the club's youth team reserves - hence his interest in Djalo, a strong, attacking midfielder.
However, the Portuguese FA have been keen for Djalo to stay in Portugal to ensure he becomes eligible to play for their national team. If moves to Chelsea now, he could play for England in the future.
