Michael Essien has been included in a provisional 30-man squad for Ghana ahead of the World Cup. The Chelsea midfielder has been sidelined since suffering a knee injury during the African Cup of Nations in January.

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac has been keeping a close eye on the 27-year-old's rehabilitation and has named him in a squad for a training camp at the end of May.
