CHELSEA CRISIS: Why did we sell Juan Mata?!!

Sometimes when I write these blogs I have to really put a lot of thought into it.

Sod that, this week I am just going to write whatever comes into my head whilst trying to stay as rational as possible. There's a lot to say this week...

Firstly, that Southampton match... It's an accumulation of things coming back to bite us. Pre-season, as said before was way too short, that's the first thing we messed up. Secondly, the transfer window. I have said all of this before but although I am still slightly surprised, I am nowhere near as surprised as most people are at Chelsea's slump.

What I am surprised about though is Jose Mourinho's reaction to it all. He seems to have lost the plot, if we are being brutally honest. The guy looks broken. He looks desperate blaming the referee for our loss. Hold on a minute, it's the referees fault that we didn't lose by more. Southampton had two blatant penalties turned down in the first half so could have scored three in the first half alone.

As for the Radamel Falcao incident, he was already going down. No penalty. Great call from the ref. Mourinho, if anything should be THANKING the referee that we did not lose that game by more because we probably should have.

I keep on coming back to this and it is getting seriously boring now, but despite my best efforts I cannot let this go: Juan Mata.

What on God's Earth was Mourinho thinking. Oscar is nowhere near him. Not a shadow. Mata and Kevin De Bruyne are different class to Oscar. Shout at me all you like, it doesn't change it. The only players we have in our squad who are better than Mata are Nemanja Matic, Eden Hazard and Diego Costa. Mata would make the world of difference to us now.

Honestly, I struggle with this still and it's hard to get my emotion towards this out in writing format. I need to say this to a camera at some point, maybe on CheekySport or 100% Chelsea or something and if I do, I will let you all know as you have put up with me rambling on with this for ages now.

Oscar is ridiculously inconsistent and in my opinion even when he is in form most of the time he is STILL not as good as Mata is. I'm sorry but I feel so strongly about this. He is the first ex-Chelsea player that I would take back in a heartbeat. It still hurts to this day and I see no sign of it changing anytime soon. That man poured his heart and soul into Chelsea, something that this season has been extremely lacking.

One final thing that is coming back to haunt us is our absolutely pants development system. Sure, we have the best youth team in the country but we never bring them up into the first team, or very very rarely anyway.

Patrick Bamford for example, I can just see it now. Several spells out on loan until eventually some random team puts in a speculative bid for him and Chelsea just think 'what the heck, get rid of him'. Such a shame.

A prime example of this is Gael Kakuta. Chelsea very very nearly collected a transfer ban by signing him and he did next to nothing only to be sold a few years later. It's beyond a joke. There is no logic at this club, we gave Juan Cuadrado the number 11 shirt only to loan him out straight away. It's just unbelievable.

I defend and defend and defend you Chelsea but there is only so much I can do. At least Gary Cahill is captaining England in Wayne Rooney's absence...
