Chelsea could've snapped up £25 million signing Oscar for a fraction of his price 12 months ago. The Daily Star Sunday says Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich could have signed the Internacional starlet a year ago - for £20m LESS.
And that, of course, applies to other Premier League clubs, like Tottenham, who were eyeing Brazil's Olympic Games playmaker.
A Brazil source revealed: "Oscar could have been signed last summer for five million or at the most six million pounds.
"Internacional knew they wouldn't be able to keep him and would have done a deal at those figures.
"Premier League clubs were aware of that but perhaps then they were unsure about him.
"What has happened since is that he has developed as a player, established himself in the Brazil squad and interest has grown.
"That has resulted in after the Games.
But the huge increase in his valuation."
