Chelsea are making a sensational move for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Independent says Chelsea believe they are now the favourites to land Milinkovic-Savic.

That's because the Serbian is said to favour a move to Stamford Bridge over Old Trafford or the Bernabeu.

Milinkovic-Savic enhanced his reputation even further at the World Cup in Russia.

Before the tournament it looked like Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was going to wrap up a deal.

But Lazio's valuation of the player is thought to have scuppered the transfer.

Chelsea could also be hesitant to pay big money for Milinkovic-Savic although if Eden Hazard leaves for Real Madrid they would have the funds.
