And Mahrez, who recently declared that he wants to leave Leicester City, is viewed as an ideal replacement for the Belgian.

The diminutive Algerian starred for the Foxes during their unprecedented title winning 2015/16 season.

However, the 26-year old dipped in production last season and is believed to be looking for a new club to inspire him again.

Mahrez was recently caught on camera calling Chelsea an "incredible club, a real club."

Arsenal is also looking at Mahrez, with manager Arsene Wenger reportedly a long term admirer of the winger.
