Chelsea pair Steve Sidwell and Claudio Pizarro were last night facing up to their new status after being axed from their Champions League squad.
They have been dumped by Avram Grant so Michael Ballack and new £15million striker Nicolas Anelka can be accommodated in his 23-man squad.
