Chelsea are confident captain John Terry wants to stay at Stamford Bridge, despite new contract talks stalling.

The Observer says according to a Stamford Bridge executive, "he is not offering himself to the market like Frank [Lampard]. So we think this means he will stay".

The executive also confirmed that Avram Grant will join Chelsea "before the season starts". The Israeli will move to the Bridge from his role as football director at Portsmouth.
