Chelsea confident seeing off Spurs challenge for Atletico Madrid ace Diego Costa

Chelsea are aware of Tottenham's interest in transfer target Diego Costa. The Atletico Madrid striker has emerged as a target for Spurs chairman Daniel Levy this summer.

The Mail on Sunday says Chelsea are confident of fending off Tottenham's attempt to steal Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa in the close-season.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and Technical Director Franco Baldini have realised the error of not signing a top striker in the wake of Gareth Bale's departure.

Costa - who is valued in the £40 million bracket - has now been targeted.
