Chelsea remain confident of convincing Manchester United to cash in on Wayne Rooney.
The Daily Star says having been reluctant to sell to any of their Premier League rivals, the relationship between Rooney and club has become so distant it appears United could now do business at their terms.
Chelsea have set a maximum figure on how much they are prepared to pay on top of meeting Rooney's £240,000-a-week salary.
But the two clubs are not a million miles away on their valuations, and a bid of around £25m could be see both parties strike a deal.
