Chelsea chiefs are determined to land an attacking midfield signing next month.
The London Evening Standard says Chelsea are keen on Monaco star Thomas Lemar and will make another attempt to buy Everton midfielder Ross Barkley after a £35m deal fell through on deadline day last August.
Chelsea are looking to add at least two new players to the squad when the January transfer window opens and Leon Bailey has also been earmarked as one of their targets.
Bailey, who joined Bayer Leverkusen from Genk for £13million in January, is an attacking winger who has scored seven goals and created four assists for the Bundesliga side this season.
Chelsea have been monitoring the 20-year-old's progress since he made his professional debut for Belgian side Genk in 2015 and went on to win the Young Footballer of the Year award.
