Chelsea chiefs are exploring the prospect of signing Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez.

Don Balon says Chelsea are planning an £70million (€80m) swoop for Saul.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte brought in Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater during the summer to strengthen the Blues' midfield following Nemanja Matic's departure.

But the boss wants greater midfield strength and has earmarked Saul as the perfect target.

Chelsea will have to trigger the player's release clause to let him go.
