Chelsea chiefs overruled Conte to stop Batshuayi January sale

Chelsea overruled manager Antonio Conte over the loan move of Michy Batshuayi to Borussia Dortmund.

The Mirror says Chelsea refused to let Batshuayi join Borussia Dortmund permanently because they still feel he has a future at Stamford Bridge.

Blues boss Antonio Conte does not fancy Batshuayi and was prepared to sell the Belgium striker but the Chelsea hierarchy did not want a permanent deal.

That further points to Conte going this summer while Chelsea could also see Batshuayi being used as a makeweight in a summer move for Dortmund's Christian Pulisic.

Pulisic is high on Chelsea's list of summer transfer targets - with or without Conte.
