Chelsea chief scout Piet de Visser rates Petr Cech as the first big signing of the Roman Abramovich era.
De Visser was called into the Chelsea fold by Abramovich after the Russian bought the club from Ken Bates.
The Dutchman recalled to NIS: "Well, I already had some research on Petr Cech.
"I had him in my sights when he went from Sparta Prague to Rennes. Then Chelsea bought him for a tidy sum.
"He's been with us (Chelsea) for a while..."
