Chelsea football chief Frank Arnesen was in Italy last night to see Sampdoria's 1-1 draw with Palermo.

Arnesen was in Genoa to check on the form of Palermo pair Simon Kjaer and Javier Pastore, along with Sampdoria striker Giampaolo Pazzini.

Pazzini was impressive on the night, while Danish defender Kjaer struggled to handle Samp's attack.

Argentine midfielder Pastore, meanwhile, was left on the Palermo bench for the evening.
