Chelsea captain John Terry admits there was as much relief as joy when winning the Champions League last season.
Terry missed the final due to suspension.
But he told Marca: "It was the culmination of a career. For years we competed well, we played very good games and came close, but did not win it.
"It was a complete joy for us and for all around us and we were finally able to celebrate with champagne. In a period of 10 years, this group of players never stopped believing that we could win it.
"If you look back you see that maybe we had more chances in other seasons when Barcelona knocked us out at our ground in the semifinal. But finally we did it in the year which seemed the most complicated."
