Chelsea captain Terry wants to pull a Giggs and play past 40

Chelsea defender John Terry plans to continue playing for at least the six years.

The 34-year-old Blues captain managed to feature in every minute of his side's Premier League title-winning campaign last term and is now looking ahead to extending his career into his 40s as Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs did before him.

"In the last four or five years I've done a lot of extra work, not just at the training ground," the former England international told Sky Sports News HQ.

"The kids are a bit older now so I get a bit more of a lie-in.

"Putting the effort in the gym, training ground, off the pitch and eat the right food, I'm hoping to carry on as a long as possible. "There's an opportunity you see with players like Giggs of playing until a very big age."
