The Daily Express says Terry texted Jose Mourinho three times in the 24 hours before yesterday's big clash at Old Trafford to reassure him that he did not betray the fallen Chelsea boss.

Chelsea and England captain Terry even contacted his old boss on matchday itself, as Avram Grant took charge of the side.

Terry is so incensed that he has been fingered as the most powerful players' influence on the Chelsea board - who were informed on Wednesday that Mourinho "had lost the dressing room" - that he is now considering legal action.
