Chelsea captain John Terry says Diego Costa shows no signs of his hamstring injury in training.
Jose Mourinho claims the forward is being nursed through training and has urged Spain coach Vicente del Bosque not to play him in Euro 2016 qualifiers against Slovakia and Luxembourg.
But Terry insists the forward has been training fully and has not complained about the issues that Mourinho maintains are forcing him into a special recovery programme.
The Chelsea skipper said: "I'm not sure where that's (hamstring issue) coming from. He certainly isn't showing that against me in training.
"He is training every day, he looks sharp, he looks angry, he looks aggressive. He's fit at the moment and that's the main thing.
"It's so important that the new guys have come in and hit the ground running.
"Cesc (Fabregas) has known the league, for Diego to come in and score the goals he has and be the handful that he is, he's been a nightmare for defenders."
