Chelsea have one hand on the Premier League title after a comfortable 2-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield. The Londoners actually looked nervy for the first half-hour but a toothless Liverpool failed to take advantage and then settled the Chelsea nerves with an awful defensive howler.
Steven Gerrard, so often the inspiration for the Reds, made a present of a terrible back pass to Didier Drogba who rounded Pepe Reina for the opening goal.
Shortly after the break and the visitor's doubled their advantage as Frank Lampard scored his 21st goal of the campaign to confirm the Blues first win at Anfield since 2005.
For Liverpool it was an end to a miserable week which has seen them crash out of the Europa Cup at the semi-final stage and now seen their slim hopes of a top four finish totally disappear.
